JDate.com was established in 1997 and is now one of the leading online Jewish matchmaking services with nearly half a million registered members.

Members, atleast half being from the US and beyond, are mainly professionals (are we surprised?) coming from all walks of life and are looking for relationships ranging from friendship to long term relations with marriage potential.

This site has, unsurprisingly, also attracted others seeking jewish mates - for those typical stereotyped qualities of the rich jewish gentleman or the traditional yet independent Jewish women.

Our Comments

We Like:

The complimentary services like speed dating, trips and local events with schedules posted on the site,
This site has an almost equal male/female ratio,
Cool Yes, No and Maybe icons on each profile which lets you test the interest of the person you see, with JDate.com sending a notice of interest to the member and encouraging a response if you picked Yes.

To Be Improved:

They currently do not offer a blocking option unless you suspend your file.
To be a free member, you still have to fill in pages which sometimes block for no reason.
